Samsung Galaxy s3 features and price in India

Updated on May 11, 2012

Samsung's flagship smartphone model S series released its latest version Galaxy S3. It is released in London last week. It comes with a lot of new features, that you cannot find in any of present day smartphone.

Samsung galaxy S2 helped Samsung to question the monopoly of Apple in smartphone market. It has been sold in more than 20 million pieces. This year with the hold in smartphone sale samsung has overtaken Nokia in entire mobile sales.

Samsung Galaxy S3 (Price $750 Rs:38000)

Surely the special thing about the phone is some technologies that you cannot find in any of the other current day smartphones. The price may vary slightly based on different countries.

New unique features in Samsung Galaxy S3

Smart Stay

This new technology uses the front camera to monitor you eye motion. If you are looking to the screen will not become dim after sometime. The screen also will not get locked if you are continuously looking to the screen. Also if you are selecting some contact details and bring the phone close to your face, call will go the the person automatically, there is no need to press call button.

S-Beam

This new technology is to make fast data transfer between different phones. Using this technology you can transfer 10MB file in 2 seconds and 1GB file in 3 minutes. Which is nearly as fast as copying from a pen drive. For using this technology you just have to bring the phones closer or bump the phones. Also you can use this feature to display videos in your mobile in Samsung HD TV.

S-Voice

This is a voice featured digital assistant, which is similar to Siri in iPhone. But still Samsung claims that this is far better than Siri. Samsung is claiming that the voice recognition system in S-voice is better than that of Siri. S-voice can do any action that is possible in the phone, like increasing volume of music, sending mail, take picture, write SMS etc.

Operating system( Android 4.0- Ice cream sandwich)

It is running on the latest version of Android which is Android 4.0 ice cream sandwich. Many other current day smartphones are also offering Android 4.0, but the specifications or hardware of these phones are not enough to enjoy Android 4.0 fully. But the stunning specifications of Galaxy S3 offers the capability to enjoy all features of Android 4.0. It includes features like phone unlocking using face detection, new payment method using Near field communication.

Processor (1.4GHz XINOS quad-core processor)

It is the first quad-core processor smartphone releasing to market. It offers superb performance. 1.4 GHz quadcore processor offers performance equivalent to that of an average desktop computer. But you have to wait for 2 or 3 more years to get apps making use of this good processing power. For example ipad 3 has released with an excellent processor and quadcore graphics processor, but there is no app using these hardware fully. There is only one or two apps using the full resolution of iPad3 (which is higher than that of HD TV).

RAM (1GB RAM)

1GB RAM is more than enough to do whatever multitasking that you can do with present day available apps. it will enable you to run as many apps in background as you like. Still your phone will perform without any delay. Internal memory of the phone is available as 16GB, 32GB, 64GB versions. In addition to that there is expandable memory slot which we can expand upto 64 GB. Both of these combined, it is easy to manage the high storage demand in modern smartphones.

Camera (8MP Auto focus with flash, 1080p HD video capture, 1.9MP front camera)

The primary camera of 8MP is of practically zero shutter lag. It is capable of capturing full HD videos. Even the 1.9MP front camera is also capable of HD recording. Camera is deeply integrated with social networks. Camera can capture group photos and can tag you friends in it and share these in single shot. This feature is named buddy photo share. As shutter lag is really less, the phone can capture upto 8 photos in single second and select the best one and save it, without much action from us.

Screen ( Super AMOLED HD display)

The super AMOLED screen with 4.8 inch size is just superb. It offers 1280x720 resolution. So you can enjoy HD videos to its full capacity. But you may note that the screen size is a little bit bigger, still it is handy. The gorilla glass used in the screen makes the phone screen scratch resistant. Pixel density is a little bit less than that of iPhone, but still it is because of the large screen. Due to the 720p HD resolution of the screen, you can enjoy HD videos in phone itself with full details. Success of Galaxy note gave Samsung enough to come up with such a big screen that is not available in any of the other current day smartphones except Galaxy Note.

Battery(2100mAh Lithium Battery)

Battery is of optimum capacity. Even though the processor is quad-core, overall the phone is power efficient. Thanks to the battery with the capacity to support a tablet itself. This large capacity battery supports your phone for longer time.
